Well, we are now into the 2nd week of http://www.kisskissburlesque.co.uk/ and the dust is settling a wee bit. A few new members aswell...ok ok friends who have been 'coerced' into signing up.
How to attract New Members?...We have feeds in place so that when a member makes a post on the Forum, it gets published to various Social Networking websites, like Twitter, Facebook and Myspace...and the result is that KKB attracts viewers, or Guests as the appear on the Forum.
Problem is...these Guests come and have a look...and then disappear!! I would love someone to actually sign up and become a member...but lets get real here...so the post feed gets published...what is there to read? Answer- not much! so CONTENT is a major factor...something we at KKB will be discussing this weekend, and hopefully...we may have something worth reading soon :)
But...these Guests, who are intrigued enough to click http://www.kisskissburlesque.co.uk/ what are they looking for? what attracts them in the first place? Ive noticed, and i guess it's obvious, we get more hits, and guests, if the first line of the post is, say...a little raunchy!
But even the most mundane first line posts seems to always attract 15-20 guests...thats not bad really...and the time spent on site before logging off is growing...the majority dont just click on and then leave due to maybe it wasnt what they were looking for...Ive noticed that they do have a look around for five minutes or more...so what are they doing? I can track them, as the Administrator. to a certain extent...You can see the name of the member or the amount of guests on all individual boards, they are looking and reading...then leaving...Arrrgh :P
Maybe...finally deciding on a template and colour...and finding a banner from somewhere will help...making the Forum look a little nicer, somewhere to hang out, somewhere to be an active member...again something that needs to improve quickly.
Anyway...just some thoughts...anyone out there want to comment? please go head...as long as it's positive :)
